This 2020 release throws the rulebook out the window, combining 8+ iconic non-OG colorways into one chaotic design. Featuring mismatched red and yellow uppers, graphic liners, and special Shanghai/Tokyo embroidery, it’s a true collector's piece built for maximum visual impact.

As part of the 2020 30th-anniversary celebrations, Jordan Brand created the "What The" AJ5—a literal "greatest hits" compilation of the silhouette's most famous non-original colorways. True to the "What The" ethos, the left and right shoes are completely different, merging elements from fan-favorite collaborations and regional exclusives into a single, insane package.

Mismatched "What The" Design:
- Right Shoe: Features yellow Varsity Maize nubuck from the "Tokyo" AJ5 on the upper, paired with the multi-color speckled midsole from the "Bel-Air" AJ5.
